Petrol tanker explosion rocks Delta, killed many, left scores severely injured

NiA petrol tanker explosion which occured around Koko Junction along the Benin/Sapele Expressway in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday, has reportedly claimed many lives and left several people with severe injures.
Eyewitnesses accounted that the explosion occured at about 11:00am in the morning, the petrol tanker driver in the process of trying to avoid some bad portion of the express road led to the sudden fall of the tanker which was full with petroleum products.
The petrol products according to the witnessed poured on the highway which was known to be very busy and it resulted into an explosive fire.

NewsNaija gathered from a source that three people were burnt to death while several were left injured while about ten vehicles were razed down by the fire, however, countless sources also accounted that over twenty lives were lost in the inferno.
Nonetheless, men of the Nigeria Police Force and officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps moved into the tanker explosion scene and the police confirmed that three people were burnt to ashes in the incident and several others were severely injured.
The security operatives in their efforts recovered the dead bodies and rushed the injured victims to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, has confirmed the incident and DSP Onome Onovwakloyeya, the Delta State Command Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed that not fewer than three people were killed, while several vehicles and motorcycles were gotten bu the inferno that erupted from the petrol tanker esplosion.
