NDDC PROBE: Akpabio threatens to sue Nunieh

Following the recent presentations by the former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mrs Joy Nunieh, Senator Godswill Akpabio had threaten to sue the Ex-NDDC Boss.

This was contained in a statement tagged “Akpabio to sue Joy Nunieh for defamation, denies ‘false allegations’,” signed by the special assistant to senator Godswill Akpabio, Anietie Ekong, in Abuja, on Friday.

Ekong said the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is set to take legal actions against Nunieh, and had instructed his legal aids to seek a redress. The minister’s aid describe allegations by the Ex-NDDC Boss against his boss as cooked up lies, explaining that nothing of such has ever happened.

It was stated in the statement that the honorable minister’s initial actions were to give chance to his legal aides to vindicate him off the allegations raised against him by Nunieh, but he is now compelled to respond to some allegation which he described as wayward allegations from the Ex-NDDC Boss especially a reported allegation on sexual harassment.

The statement emphasized that there is no iota of truth in the allegations peddled around by Nunieh and that all the allegations are simply false, it went further to clarify that the Honorable Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON, did not  at any time make any form of sexual advancement to the EX-NDDC boss or any other female staff of the Ministry.

According to the statement, the Minister is married and contended with his wife with whom he is blessed with grown up children who are already young women. Furthermore it was stated that the Honorable minister is an avid believer of the affirmative action, a character which is obvious from the appointments he made during his tenure as Akwa Ibom State Governor between 2007 and 2015.

Senator Godswill Akpabio, appointed countless numbers of women to hold high-level positions under his administration, positions like chairpersons of Local Government Councils, heads of parastatals, magistrates, judges, directors, commissioners and Permanent Secretaries, Proclaimed the Statement.
