COVID-19: Fresh total lockdown likely to be proferred soon – PTF



The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, through its Chairman, Boss Mustapha, stated that a fresh total lockdown is likely to be proferred soon as a measure to further minify the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
Mustapha, who doubles as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made this decoration in Abuja, at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 press briefing.

The PTF Chairman, complained bitterly about the continuous increase in the positive cases of COVID-19 in the country especially among Government Executives, pointing out that the pandemic is significantly affecting the Nation’s governance and security.

PTF: We will proffer fresh total lockdown if need be

Mustapha, in his response to if the PTF will proffer fresh lockdown due to the certain circumstances, said that time will tell if fresh lockdown will be necessary.
He explained that his team is dedicated to protecting the lives of Nigerians and would not base their recommendations on predictions, nevertheless, the PTF will not hesitate to profer a fresh total lockdown to the President if need be.

COVID-19 does not Victimize – Minister

In his remarks, the SGF, however, reiterated that the COVID-19 does not regard status and neither does it discreminates, he went further to persuade Nigerians to ensure they keep adhering strictly with the COVID-19 preventive measures.

Recall that the number of Governor’s and Dignitaries that had tested positive to the virus, has recently been on the increase. State Governors who recently contracted the virus include Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo and David Umahi of Ebonyi.

Mustapha, reassured the general public, that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, will continue supporting the public by sustaining it’s sensitization messaging.
