21 People feared dead in a fresh attack by Fulani Herdsmen in Kaduna

Not fewer than Twenty-one people have been feared dead after some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen launched a fresh attack on Kukum Daji village in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

NewsNaija gathered that the fresh attack left over thirty people severely injured, an eyewitness who spoke on the basis of anonymity said about seventeen youths who had came to grace a wedding party at the area were killed by the gunmen and other people numbering up to about five were also killed.

As accounted by the witness, the gunmen shot indiscriminately while approaching the village and countless number of villager fled for their lives and the course of trying to escape, some got killed while some sustained severe injuries, the injured ones have been taken to the General Hospital in Kafanchan for medical attention.

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, in a statement condemned the attack on Kukum Daji, the group reported about five people including children lost their lives during the attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Kukum Daji.

Also, in a confirmation statement, the president of the community, Yashen Titus, on Monday said the gunmenz suspected to be Fulani militia killed people who had came to attend a wedding party in the village.

He further explained that the suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded the village in the late hour of 10:35pm on Sunday, they shot indiscriminately to leave seventeen people dead at the spot while others were severely injured from gunshot.

Titus confirmed that some villagers are still missing and the residents are scared of going into the bushes in search of the missing people, he emphasized that security operatives are yet to be deployed to the village.

Speaking about the attack, the Public Relations Officer of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, Luka Binniyat, condemned the massacre and call on the Kaduna State Government to stand to the aid of the Southern Kaduna People.
